Impact parameter dependence of anisotropic flow: bayesian reconstruction in ultracentral nucleus-nucleus collisions

  • What: The authors show that, indeed, both observations related to vn {2} and c2 {4} are naturally explained if one properly takes into account the difference between the centrality as defined experimentally (using typically the multiplicity in some detector ) and the true centrality , as defined by the impact parameter, b, of the collision. The authors show that implementing leading nonGaussian corrections (discussed in Sec III F), which are the skewness (for elliptic flow) and kurtosis (for all other harmonics), in the fit to data improves the description of the experimental results.
