    Instrumented spacecraft in the near-Earth`s magnetosphere detect significant dynamic variations in the magnetic_fields and plasma properties in response to variations in the solar wind (Araki, 1994; Araki et_al, 1997; Archer et_al, 2013; Blum et_al, 2021). An equilibrium state is found when the solar wind ram pressure balances the magnetic_field pressure at the stagnation point of the solar wind flow as argued by Chapman and Bartels and Alfvén.
