    In recent years, due to fears surrounding the risk of antibiotic resistance, there has been growing interest in alternative methods to pharmaceutical approaches for controlling potential pathogens on livestock farms. The misuse of drugs has contributed to the onset of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), especially in the past. This leads to the expression of mutations or the transmission of mobile genetic elements through horizontal gene transfer (HGT) among bacterial populations. Aloe (Aloe vera) appears to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, hypoglycemic and antibacterial properties. Even the essential oil of mint (Mentha arvensis) has effective antibacterial properties . . .
