Increased genetic contribution to wellbeing during the covid-19 pandemic

HIGHLIGHTS

SUMMARY

Since the start of the pandemic, the genetics of COVID-19 and the impact of the COVID19 pandemic on mental health over time have been extensively investigated separately. The authors aimed to explore the interaction between genetics and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on individuals` wellbeing over time. The authors hypothesize that the COVID-19 pandemic is a potentially traumatic life-event, having previously been associated to highly significant levels of psychological distress, and therefore expect to observe a dynamic relative contribution of genetics on wellbeing during the pandemic.
