SUMMARY

    The biology and pathogenesis of infantile hemangiomas (IHs) are complex and not completely understood. Some IHs present with life threatening symptoms such airway obstruction, risk of bleeding (particularly those localized to the liver), or cardiac failure (when numerous). With this case report, the authors present a unique encounter with a patient in severe respiratory distress from an obstructive lower airway infantile hemangioma. With this rare case . . .
