HIGHLIGHTS
SUMMARY
Two projects targeting innovation and qualification of LEU research reactor fuels and materials are currently being executed within the Euratom Research and Training Programmes, i.e. the "Low Enriched Uranium Fuels fOR REsEarch Reactors" (LEU-FOREvER) and the "EUropean QUALIFication approach for low enriched fuel sYstems for secure production supply of medical isotopes" (EU-QUALIFY). The main route of accomplishing this, e_g for the European HPRRs given in Table 1, is to increase the uranium loading over the aforementioned 4.8 gU/cc through various means and to demonstrate the behavior of these novels . . .
