SUMMARY

    Thymic epithelial tumours (TETs) are rare tumours occurring in the anterior mediastinum, with an estimated incidence of about 1 case per 4 million. The World Health Organization (WHO) histological classification, first issued in 1999 and revised in 2004, is based on morphology and atypia and divides TETs into five types of 2 of 12 thymomas (type A, AB, B1, B2 and B3) and thymic carcinomas.
