    Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) historically represents a rare cause of prosthetic joint infection (PJI), although it remains an important pathogen to consider in routine clinical practice. Guidelines for treatment of pulmonary nontuberculous mycobacteria and PJI provide little information on how to manage PJIs caused by MAC (Daley et_al, 2020; Osmon et_al, 2013).
