SUMMARY
Some reports have detected Leishmania spp. in this carnivore species through serological and molecular methods (Voltarelli et_al, 2009; Porfirio et_al, 2018; Reis et_al, 2020), and L shawi was isolated from this mammal (Lainson et_al, 1989).
