SUMMARY
The pre-pandemic literature concerning LGBTQ+ students` school experiences suggests that COVID-19-related school disruptions could have both beneficial and harmful consequences for youth. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, LGBTQ+ students faced greater identity-based social stressors in schools and at home on average compared to their peers, which put LGBTQ+ youth at risk of poor academic and health outcomes.
