Listening to the community: identifying obesity prevention strategies for rural preschool-aged children

HIGHLIGHTS

• What: From June 2019 to July 2021, this study team conducted formative research in two rural communities in Indiana (IN) and North Carolina (NC) to identify barriers, facilitators, and opportunities to address obesity in preschool children aged 2-5 years (published elsewhere) . The study team aimed to recruit a diverse representation of participants, including parents, childcare providers, and representatives of community organizations that serve families, but there were no set quota requirements.
