• What: This research paper covers Egypt`s current energy policies and previous modelling work in the literature review, which leads on to the Experimental section describing the modelling methodology that was undertaken to generate the six scenarios. In comparison, the study described here is based on ISES 2035 targets and IRENA`s proposed modifications. This research investigated the impact on Egypt`s energy sector of upscaling renewable energy technologies to determine whether a clean energy transition will be possible in the future.
