HIGHLIGHTS
- What: The authors investigate scenarios where only sparse wall shear stress measurements are available while accurate wall shear stress and velocity profiles are sought. This approach has proven successful for sparse reference data that is regularly distributed throughout the domain. The authors attempt to augment the near-wall measurement data (well-resolved LES data from literature ) with a velocity field from a computationally affordable higher-fidelity model, i. e. the loosely coupled dual-mesh LES/ RANS model. This approach has been successful in several cases , but the difficult implementation has been a drawback.
