SUMMARY
Since its identification in China in late 2019, the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic has spread rapidly worldwide, affecting millions of people, pushing the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare the COVID-19 outbreak a global pandemic. To assess whether SARS-CoV-2 infection affects the maternal and fetal IFN secretion, the authors compared IFNγ levels in maternal blood and in cord blood in a pregnant population affected by COVID-19.
