HIGHLIGHTS
- who: September and colleagues from the Western University, Canada have published the Article: Lysosomal acid lipase de ciency: A rare inherited dyslipidemia but potential ubiquitous factor in the development of atherosclerosis and fatty liver disease, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
- what: Several of the studies showing low LAL activity in NAFLD also found that LAL activity was associated with leukocyte count (Baratta et_al, 2019b) or both leukocyte and platelet counts (Vespasiani-Gentilucci et_al, 2016; Tovoli et_al, 2017), but in all of these LAL activity was independently associated with NAFLD after adjusting for leukocytes and platelets.
