• what: The authors show that the hyperactive isoform of carbohydrate response-element binding protein (ChREBPu03b2) is a nuclear effector of hyperglycemic stress occurring in u03b2-cells in response to prolonged glucose exposure, high-fat diet, and diabetes. The authors show that transient positive feedback induction of ChREBPu03b2 is necessary for adaptive u03b2-cell expansion in response to metabolic challenges.
