Mechanical response of glass/kevlar hybrid composite jackets for steel containers carrying hazardous materials to enhance safety

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: This study investigates different performance aspects of various fiber/fabric configurations (glass aramid) used as reinforcement with vinyl ester or epoxy. Another study, a sequel to this study shows the need to carefully consider preload and initial imperfections in the design of fire-resistant structures using CFRP reinforcement . Railway tank jacketing requires high energy absorption per unit volume, necessitating further research in this area, which this study has undertaken.
  • Who: Windows User from the West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV, USA have published the paper: SUST, 2024, 4(3):, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
