Mechanosensitive expression of the mesenchymal subtype marker connective tissue growth factor in glioblastoma

HIGHLIGHTS

  • who: Thomas James Grundy from the s Hospital University have published the research work: Mechanosensitive expression of the mesenchymal subtype marker connective tissue growth factor in glioblastoma, in the Journal: Scientific Reports Scientific Reports
  • what: Data in this study have established that expression of the mesenchymal marker CTGF is regulated by substrate stiffness. Although it is widely suggested that CTGF expression occurs downstream of actin polymerisation, the authors show that CTGF expression occurs prior to spreading and in the presence of actin depolymerising drugs and, further, is not induced by actin polymerising agents.
