• what: The authors investigate the magnetic properties of archetypal transition-metal oxides MnO FeO CoO and NiO under very high pressure by x-ray emission spectroscopy at the K line. As an example the authors show in Fig 3 the emission line in MnO at four pressure points across the magnetic transition (circles).
