  • What: The aim of this study was to first evaluate the effects of an acute fast on parameters of bone microarchitecture with HR-pQCT and second to identify potential regulators of fasting-induced bone remodeling. The study demonstrates the power of HR-pQCT to detect acute remodeling of bone microarchitecture over 10 days of a 0-calorie fast and provides conceptual support for the fasting surge in methionine as a regulatory contributor.
