- What: The authors did not find any association between overweight and MNDs, although overweight, in particular obesity, has been shown to increase risk for ID in children and young people in meta-analysis OR=1.51 (1.20, 1.82).29 The study has implications for addressing social determinants of MNDs and provides key data for supporting nutritional policy and practice in regard to prevention, early identification of malnutrition, as well as addressing socioeconomic inequities.
