Molecular and phenotypic markers for pyramiding multiple traits in rice

HIGHLIGHTS

  • who: Nono Carsono and collaborators from the (UNIVERSITY) have published the research work: Molecular and phenotypic markers for pyramiding multiple traits in rice, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
  • what: Selection for highyield (>10 tons/ha), early maturity ( and amp;lt;100 days after planting), and high-quality traits are the main objectives in rice breeding programs. The authors employed simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers followed by phenotypic assessment. In this study, the grain weight was identified using RM282 (chromosome 3), supposedly linked to GW3, the gene controlling grain weight.
