Molecular characterization of the permanent outer-inner membrane contact site of the mitochondrial genome segregation complex in trypanosomes

  • What: The authors have characterized the interaction between the two mitochondrial integral_membrane_proteins TAC60 (OM) and p166 (IM) of T. brucei at the molecular level. Structural predictions of the TAC60-p166 interaction interface of distantly related Kinetoplastids shows that the model proposed for T. brucei likely applies for the whole group (S5 Fig). The control experiments that the TAC60 mutants used in the study completely replace the endogenous TAC60 and are fully integrated into the TAC are provided in S6 and S7 Figs, respectively. The predicted structure for T. brucei is identical to the model shown in Fig . . .
