Endodontic microsurgery (EMS) is a well-established strategy for the endodontic treatment of non-healing apical periodontitis. During the past decades, the success rate has largely been improved with the use of microscopes, ultrasonic microtips for root-end cavity preparation, and biocompatible root-end filling materials.
