- what: The authors described the gene, named Tuphoxin (Tunicate Phenol Oxidase), coding for p48 and several similar proteins in S. rustica and H. aurantium. On the basis of the results obtained the authors propose that protein products of Tuphoxins belong to the alfa subtype of tyrosinases. The role of TSP domain in ECM formation is also demonstrated by its involvement in the molting . . .
