• What: The aim of this research is to assert the significance of annotations in revealing omitted meanings in translations, highlighting the capability of African languages to articulate sociopolitical issues that are often left unspoken. Ultimately, the findings of this study aim to illuminate the hidden treasures inherent in African literature, advocating for its broader significance within literary studies and articulating the critical role of annotations in enhancing the translation of this rich and diverse literary tradition.
