Normality in medicine: an empirical elucidation

    Recent psychological research, in fact, has evidenced that people`s notion of normality generally incorporates both statistical (e_g average) and prescriptive (e_g the ideal) norms, that is both an object`s occurrence probability and its goodness influence a person`s normality evaluation. Correspondingly, in the ICD-10 Classification of Mental and Behavioural Disorders it appeared 259 times (e_g normal mood, normal family, normal sense of_(fe)maleness, normal children).
