- what: The authors report on the experimental observation of an unpaired photonic Dirac point in a 2D PhC operating at microwave frequencies. Using direct field mapping, the authors show that an unpolarized point source excites Bloch states in a single valley, centered on one of the two inequivalent BZ corners. The authors show that the unpaired Dirac point enables the phenomenon of non-reciprocal reflection.
