    In most carnivoran species, the brachial plexus originates from the ventral branches of the last three cervical spinal nerves and the first thoracic spinal nerve (C6-T1). The medial branch forms the abaxial dorsal digital nerve I and the common dorsal digital nerve I, and the lateral branch forms the common dorsal digital nerves II to IV in canids, mustelids, and ursids.
