SUMMARY
Recent studies15,18 and some studies referred therein suggest that leafcutter bees often use rose leaves to sheath the brood. The survey of 797 rose plants in two locations in south India discerns that the bees avoid pesticide-treated plants regardless of the pesticide type. Bees may use roses more in urban areas if roses are predominant in the plant community in urban areas compared to other plants that the bees may prefer.
