    Gradient coils of magnetic_resonance imaging (MRI) scanners undergo large Lorentz forces as rapidly switched electrical currents are passing through them in the presence of the static magnetic_field B0. Due to these forces, the gradient coil conductors vibrate, and these vibrations radiate into the air as acoustic pressure waves and sound radiation.
