Plant polyphenol gossypol induced cell death and its association with gene expression in mouse macrophages

SUMMARY

    Chemicals that can increase TTP gene_expression may have therapeutic value for the prevention and/or treatment of inflammation-related diseases. Plant polyphenols have been shown to regulate mammalian gene_expression in numerous studies. Green tea polyphenols regulate gene_expression in rats with metabolic syndrome caused by a high-fructose diet. Little is known of whether gossypol regulates gene_expression involved in glucose transport and insulin signaling. Green tea polyphenols increased TTP gene_expression but decreased TNF gene_expression in rats with metabolic syndrome caused by feeding on a high-fructose diet. TTP gene_expression is 12 of 16 also induced . . .
