- what: The authors show that POP1 inhibits uric acid crystal-induced NLRP3 inflammasome activation, inflammation and ameliorates gout in a mouse model. The study provides further support that POP1 is an important regulator of sterile inflammatory responses by targeting the MSU crystal induced NLRP3 inflammasome. Mechanistically, the authors demonstrate that POP1 prevents MSU crystal induced NLRP3 inflammasome assembly, the resulting activation of caspase . . .
