Quality of life and caregiving burden associated with parenting a person with duchenne/becker muscular dystrophy in poland

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of providing care for a person with DBMD on caregivers` quality of life perceived burden and financial well-being. After the letter with the invitation to participate in the study was sent to several advocacy organizations and support groups for DBMD patients and their families and permission was obtained, the principal investigator (JD) posted the link to an online questionnaire on their Facebook pages and all DBMD caregivers were invited to participate. This research shows that DBMD is a source of severe burden for caregivers.
