Osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is a major side effect related to high-dose corticosteroid administration, which occurs frequently in relatively young adults (age, 30-50 years). At 3 and 6 months after treatment, the HHS in the ESWT group was higher than that in the control group (all p and amp;lt; 0.05). The HHS in the ESWT and control groups was comparable at 12 months (t=-0.879; p=0.381), indicating there was no difference in hip function improvement between the two groups.
