HIGHLIGHTS
- What: The authors propose a novel photothermal battery design that integrates PCC with aqueous suspension electrodes, enabling rapid self-heating and effective interior heat transfer at subzero temperatures. To address this, a finite element method model was developed to evaluate temperature distribution under local heating conditions (Fig 2h). A stable temperature of 20 °C can be maintained throughout consecutive charge/discharge cycles, even with fluctuating ambient temperatures between -5 °C and 5 °C. This approach shows considerable potential for the practical application of aqueous battery systems in cold climates.
