Rat and mouse brain tumor models for experimental neuro-oncology research

HIGHLIGHTS

SUMMARY

Larger tumor size permits better in_vivo localization by various imaging methods. Stereotactic i.c. implantation using suspensions of tumor cells has become the standard for in_vivo studies in rat brain tumor models. This suggested that the long-term surviving animals had developed a xeno-immune_response directed against human EGFR and RAT C6 GLIOMA Experimental Studies Volume 81, Number 5, May 2022 that an inoculum of 103 or 104 cells was insufficient to evoke an immune_response. The tumor cells could be propagated in tissue_culture, which made them very useful for both in_vitro and in_vivo studies . . .
