SUMMARY

    The acute scrotum is a common presentation in Paediatric Urology practice. Out of all the conditions, testicular torsion remains an emergency, requiring early diagnosis and surgery to salvage the involved testis to preserve testicular fertility. Testicular torsion causes testicular injury mainly due to the rotation of the spermatic cord and its vessels leading to ischemia and oxidative damage of the testis.
