HIGHLIGHTS
- who: January et al. from the Hospital, Taiwan Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong have published the research: Recent advances of tanshinone in regulating autophagy for medicinal research, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
- how: The results indicated that Tan IIA inhibited autophagy in the hippocampus by up-regulating RACK1 to suppress Beclin1 protein expression and down-regulate the LC3-II/I ratio thereby attenuating Au03b225-35-induced spatial memory impairment in mice. This review describes that tanshinone has shown promising efficacy in various cancers through the multifaceted modulation of PI3K and mTOR targets.
