HIGHLIGHTS
- who: Nitric oxide . Nitric and colleagues from the University of Oxford, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, UK have published the research: Recoupling the Cardiac Nitric Oxide Synthases: Tetrahydrobiopterin Synthesis and Recycling, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
- what: Reduced BH4 concentrations relative to cellular BH2 and NOS protein result in the uncoupling of oxygen activation from NO production and promote the generation of superoxide anions instead.
- future: Future studies are therefore needed to understand how BH4 bioavailability and these factors interact with one another to determine NOS activity at biochemical cellular and systemic levels.
