HIGHLIGHTS
- who: Marie-Christine Lebart and colleagues from the EPHE, PSL Research University, Paris, France have published the research: Reg-1, a New Substrate of Calpain-2 Depending on Its Glycosylation Status, in the Journal: (JOURNAL) of 30/06/2022
- what: The authors showed that Reg-1α can be cleaved in vitro by calpain-2 the calcium activated neutral protease overexpressed in neurodegenerative diseases. The authors demonstrated that Reg-1α is a new substrate of calpain-2 in_vitro with a cleavage site between residues Gln4 and Thr5, upstream from the previously identified trypsin site.
