SUMMARY
A previous study reported the importance of low abundance antimicrobial-resistant microbes in soil-plant systems for the spread of AMR. The potential transmission of AMR back to humans through a soil-microbe-animal-plant nexus endangers public health, since the spread of AMR could push the authors to the post-antibiotic era.
