SUMMARY
Gangliogliomas are grade 1 tumors (World Health Organization (WHO) classification), constituting 0.4-1.4% of central nervous system (CNS) tumors. Oligodendroglial neoplasms are considered glial tumors; however, they may have neuronal and neurocytic differentiation capacity. In this manuscript, the authors present the case of a patient with a ganglioglioma who subsequently developed an oligodendroglioma with anaplastic areas. Patients with this type of neoplasm may also present with headaches due to increased intracranial pressure and focal neurological deficit, depending on the location of the tumor.
