SUMMARY
Recent studies (e_g, ) report an increase in tree mortality due to climate change. The use of long time series of satellite data has proved to be suitable to follow space-time dynamics of vegetation and monitor forest decline/mortality in different environments (e_g, birch forest in China, oak populations in Iran, pine and oak trees in the Mediterranean area ). Among them, instruments aboard the Landsat series are particularly useful for that purpose e_g_[22-24] thanks to the right trade-off between temporal revisit time and spatial resolution, as well as their multi-decennial . . .
