SUMMARY

    The authors excluded patients with biopsy-proven AA amyloidosis or with impaired renal function and proteinuria, as well as patients who did not fulfill Livneh FMF ­criteria5 or who did not harbor two validated pathogenic MEFV mutations as defined in the Infevers online registry (https://​infev​ers.​umai-​montp​ellier.​fr/​web/). The authors excluded another cause for elevated liver tests by looking for: hepatitis B; hepatitis_C; Epstein-Barr virus; cytomegalovirus; creatine phosphokinase; alpha 1 anti-trypsin; ceruloplasmin; ferritin; transferrin saturation coefficient; anti-transglutaminase and -endomysium antibodies; anti-nuclear antibodies; anti-smooth muscle antibodies . . .
