Randomized clinical trials show ENDS to be more effective for smoking cessation than nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) (Hajek et_al, 2019; Hartmann-Boyce et_al, 2021; Walker et_al, 2020), though clinical cessation treatment may have a limited impact at the population level.
