Self-association of the glycopeptide antibiotic teicoplanin a2 in aqueous solution studied by molecular hydrodynamics

HIGHLIGHTS

SUMMARY

    Teicoplanin A2 (monomer molar mass: M1=1877.6 g/mol for teicoplanin A2-1, M1=1879.7 g/ mol for teicoplanin A2-2 and A2-3, and M1=1893.7 g/mol for teicoplanin A2-4 and A2-5) was purchased in powder form from Sigma-Aldrich, United Kingdom. The partial specific volume υ from solution/ solvent densities was determined using an Anton-Paar (Graz, Austria) digital density m eter41, and application of: ρ - ρ0 1 · 1- υ=(1) ρ0 c at a concentration, c, of 10.2 mg/mL, and where ρ and ρ0 are the densities . . .
