- what: The authors report that PAD2 is engaged in sepsis and sepsis-induced acute lung injury in both human patients and mice. The authors assessed the expression of PAD2 in human septic patients. The study showed that Caspase-11 cleavage was decreased in lung tissue from Pad2-/- mice after CLP . The study showed that PAD2 regulated noncanonical pyroptosis in a manner that is not necessarily through gene regulation.
