Smartphone addiction, also referred to as "pathological smartphone use" or "smartphone dependence," is defined as an people`s uncontrollable use of their smartphones; it can lead to serious harmful activity at work, while studying, and in daily life. The authors hypothesize that professional identity is one of the influencing factors of smartphone addiction in medical students.
