  • What: To implement the study, the authors developed an index of social adversity that incorporates socioeconomic background, gender, and ethnicity, for students of a Brazilian FIHE. Following the primary goal of the law, it is uncontested that the QL increased the access of poor, Black, brown-skin, and Indigenous people into the FIHE. The authors present how the literature, and theoretical ideas has shown the relationship between higher education access, including subject choices and its potential for social mobility.
